Ingredients

  • 🐷 Pork belly – 2 lbs
  • 🧅 Onion – 1, quartered
  • 🧄 Garlic – 6 cloves
  • 🌿 Ginger – 1 inch, sliced
  • 🍶 Soju or rice wine – 1/4 cup
  • 🥬 Napa cabbage – for serving
  • 🌶️ Gochujang – for serving
  • 🍚 Cooked rice – for serving

Instructions

  • 💧 In a large pot, add pork belly, onion, garlic, ginger, soju and enough water to cover the pork.
  • ♨️ Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 60 minutes, or until the pork is tender.
  • 🔪 Remove the pork from the pot and let it cool slightly. Slice thinly.
  • 🥬 Serve the sliced pork with napa cabbage leaves, gochujang, and rice.
  • 쌈 Enjoy as a wrap (ssam)!
