Ingredients

  • 🍦 Ice cream – assorted flavors
  • 🍰 Sponge cake – round
  • 🥚 Egg whites – 6 large
  • 🍚 Sugar – 1 cup
  • 🍋 Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • 🔥 Liquor (optional) – for flambé

Instructions

  • 🔪 Cut a cavity in the sponge cake and fill with layers of ice cream.
  • 🥶 Freeze the cake until solid.
  • 🥚 Whip egg whites with sugar and lemon juice until stiff peaks form to make meringue.
  • 🔥 Cover the ice cream-filled cake completely with the meringue.
  • 🌡️ Broil or use a kitchen torch to brown the meringue quickly. Flambé with liquor if desired and serve immediately.
