Ingredients
- 🍦 Ice cream – assorted flavors
- 🍰 Sponge cake – round
- 🥚 Egg whites – 6 large
- 🍚 Sugar – 1 cup
- 🍋 Lemon juice – 1 tsp
- 🔥 Liquor (optional) – for flambé
Instructions
- 🔪 Cut a cavity in the sponge cake and fill with layers of ice cream.
- 🥶 Freeze the cake until solid.
- 🥚 Whip egg whites with sugar and lemon juice until stiff peaks form to make meringue.
- 🔥 Cover the ice cream-filled cake completely with the meringue.
- 🌡️ Broil or use a kitchen torch to brown the meringue quickly. Flambé with liquor if desired and serve immediately.
