Birthday Cake with Cherry Ice Cream

Ingredients
- 🍰 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 🥄 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 🧂 1/2 tsp salt
- 🧈 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 🍚 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 🥚 2 large eggs
- 🥛 1 cup milk
- 🍦 1 pint cherry ice cream
- 🍒 Maraschino cherries (for garnish)
Instructions
- 🔥 Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- 🥣 In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 🥄 In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- 🥚 Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- 🥛 Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- 🍨 Slice cake and serve with a scoop of cherry ice cream.
- 🍒 Garnish with maraschino cherries.
