Ingredients
- 🥛 Milk – 1 cup, lukewarm
- 🌾 Flour – 4 cups, all-purpose
- 🍬 Sugar – ½ cup
- 🧈 Butter – ½ cup, melted
- 🥚 Eggs – 2 large
- 🍩 Yeast – 2 ¼ teaspoons, active dry
- 🍓 Jam – for filling (strawberry or raspberry)
- ✨ Powdered sugar – for dusting
- 🛢️ Oil – for frying
Instructions
- 🍩 Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- 🥣 In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.
- ⏳ Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 🔪 Roll out the dough and cut into circles. Let them rest for 15 minutes.
- 🔥 Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
- 🍓 Fill with jam using a piping bag and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature.
