Ingredients

  • Agar agar powder: 4g 🍚
  • Water: 2 cups 💧
  • Sugar: 1/4 cup 🍬
  • Anko (red bean paste): 1 cup 🫘
  • Gyuhi (mochi): 1/2 cup 🍡
  • Canned mandarin oranges: 1 can 🍊
  • Canned pineapples: 1 can 🍍
  • Shiratamako flour: 1/2 cup 🍚
  • Kinako (roasted soybean flour): 2 tbsp 🥜
  • Kuromitsu (brown sugar syrup): to taste 🍯

Instructions

  • Make agar jelly: Dissolve agar agar powder in water. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Pour into a container and let it set. 🧊
  • Prepare mochi: Mix shiratamako flour with water until it forms a dough. Roll into small balls and boil until they float. Transfer to ice water. 🥟
  • Cut the agar jelly into cubes. 🔪
  • Arrange agar jelly, anko, gyuhi, mandarin oranges, and pineapple in a bowl. 🥣
  • Top with kinako and drizzle with kuromitsu. Enjoy! 🎉
