Yaowarat roasted duck

Ingredients

  • 🦆 Whole duck – about 5 lbs
  • ⭐ Five-spice powder – 2 tbsp
  • 🍯 Honey – 2 tbsp
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
  • 🌱 Ginger – 1 inch piece, grated
  • 🍶 Soy sauce – 3 tbsp
  • 🌿 Coriander – for garnish

Instructions

  • 🦆 Prepare the duck by rinsing and patting it dry.
  • ⭐ Mix five-spice powder, honey, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce to make a marinade.
  • 🔥 Rub the marinade all over the duck, inside and out. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight in the fridge.
  • ♨️ Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Place the duck on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Add about 1 cup of water to the bottom of the pan.
  • ⏲️ Roast the duck for about 90 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste with pan juices every 30 minutes.
  • 🔪 Let the duck rest for 10 minutes before carving. Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
