Ingredients

  • 🍚 Basmati Rice – 2 cups
  • 🍗 Chicken or Mutton – 500g
  • 🧅 Onions – 2 medium, sliced
  • 🧄 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
  • 🌿 Whole Spices (cardamom, cloves, cinnamon)
  • 💧 Water – as needed
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 🍃 Fresh Coriander – for garnish

Instructions

  • 🍲 Prepare the Yakhni (broth) by simmering meat with whole spices, ginger-garlic paste, and water until tender.
  • 🍚 Strain the Yakhni and reserve both the broth and the meat.
  • 🔥 In a pot, sauté onions until golden brown.
  • 🍚 Add rice and the reserved meat to the pot. Fry for a few minutes.
  • 💧 Pour in the Yakhni (broth), add salt, and bring to a boil. Then, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until rice is cooked and broth is absorbed.
  • 🌿 Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
