Ingredients

  • 🍚 Rice – 1 cup
  • 🫘 Moong Dal – ½ cup
  • 💧 Water – 4 cups
  • 🌶️ Green Chilies – 2, slit
  • 🫚 Ginger – 1 tsp, grated
  • 🖤 Black Peppercorns – 1 tsp
  • 🌿 Curry Leaves – 1 sprig
  • 🌰 Cashews – 1 tbsp
  • 🥄 Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste

Instructions

  • 🍚 Wash rice and moong dal together.
  • 💧 Add rice, dal, water, green chilies, ginger, and peppercorns to a pressure cooker.
  • 🔥 Cook for 3-4 whistles until soft.
  • 🌰 In a separate pan, heat ghee, add cashews, and curry leaves. Fry until cashews are golden brown.
  • 🥘 Pour the ghee mixture over the cooked pongal. Add salt and mix well. Serve hot.
