Ingredients
- 🫘 Urad dal – 1 cup
- 🧅 Onion – finely chopped
- 🌿 Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- 🌶️ Green chilies – 2, chopped
- 🌱 Cilantro – chopped
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 💧 Water – as needed
- 🛢️ Oil – for frying
Instructions
- 💧 Soak urad dal in water for at least 4 hours.
- ⚙️ Grind the dal into a smooth batter with minimal water.
- 🧅 Add onions, curry leaves, green chilies, cilantro, and salt to the batter.
- 🔥 Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
- 🖐️ Shape small portions of the batter into donut shapes and gently slide them into the hot oil.
- ♨️ Fry until golden brown and crisp on both sides. Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
