Thatte Idli & Chutney

Ingredients

  • 🍚 Idli Rice – for soft idlis
  • Urad Dal – for fermentation
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 💧 Water – as needed
  • 🥥 Coconut – grated (for chutney)
  • 🫘 Roasted Gram Dal – for chutney
  • 🌶️ Green Chillies – for chutney
  • 🌿 Curry Leaves – for chutney tempering

Instructions

  • 🍚 Soak rice and dal separately for 4-5 hours.
  • ⚙️ Grind into a smooth batter and ferment overnight.
  • ♨️ Steam idlis in thatte idli moulds until fluffy.
  • 🥥 Prepare chutney by grinding coconut, gram dal, chillies and salt.
  • 🔥 Temper chutney with mustard seeds and curry leaves. Serve with hot idlis.
