Ingredients

  • 🍚 Idli Rice – 2 cups
  • 🌱 Urad Dal – 1/2 cup
  • 🥄 Fenugreek Seeds – 1 tsp
  • 💧 Water – as needed
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 🥄 Cooking Soda – a pinch

Instructions

  • 🥣 Soak rice, dal, and fenugreek separately overnight.
  • Mix and grind to a smooth batter. Add salt and let it ferment overnight.
  • 🥄 Add a pinch of cooking soda to the batter before steaming.
  • ♨️ Pour batter into thatte idli molds and steam for 15-20 minutes.
  • 🍽️ Serve hot with chutney and sambar.
