Ingredients
- 🟡 Daal (Lentils) – 1 cup
- 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
- 🍅 Tomato – 1 medium, chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- 🌶️ Green Chili – 1, slit
- 🌿 Ginger – 1 inch, grated
- 🌱 Curry Leaves – 8-10
- 🥄 Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- 🥄 Red Chili Powder – 1/2 tsp
- 🥄 Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
- 🥄 Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- 🌿 Coriander Leaves – for garnish
- 🧈 Ghee/Oil – 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 🥣 Cook daal until soft. Mash lightly and set aside.
- 🔥 Heat ghee/oil in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
- 🧅 Add onion, garlic, ginger, and green chili. Sauté until golden brown.
- 🍅 Add tomato and cook until soft. Add turmeric and red chili powder.
- 🥘 Pour cooked daal into the pan. Add salt and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- 🌿 Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
