Ingredients

  • 🌾 All-purpose flour – 1 cup
  • 🍚 Rice flour – 2 tbsp
  • 🥛 Yogurt – 1/4 cup
  • 💛 Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • 💧 Water – as needed
  • 🍬 Sugar – 1.5 cups
  • 🍋 Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • 🌿 Saffron strands – a pinch
  • 🛢️ Oil or ghee – for frying

Instructions

  • 🥣 Prepare the batter by mixing flour, rice flour, yogurt, turmeric, and water.
  • ♨️ Ferment the batter for a few hours in a warm place.
  • 🍯 Prepare sugar syrup with sugar, water, lemon juice, and saffron.
  • 🔥 Heat oil/ghee in a pan and pipe jalebi batter into hot oil in a circular motion.
  • 💛 Fry until golden and crispy, then dip in warm sugar syrup and serve.
