Ingredients
- 🌾 All-purpose flour – 1 cup
- 🍚 Rice flour – 2 tbsp
- 🥛 Yogurt – 1/4 cup
- 💛 Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- 💧 Water – as needed
- 🍬 Sugar – 1.5 cups
- 🍋 Lemon juice – 1 tsp
- 🌿 Saffron strands – a pinch
- 🛢️ Oil or ghee – for frying
Instructions
- 🥣 Prepare the batter by mixing flour, rice flour, yogurt, turmeric, and water.
- ♨️ Ferment the batter for a few hours in a warm place.
- 🍯 Prepare sugar syrup with sugar, water, lemon juice, and saffron.
- 🔥 Heat oil/ghee in a pan and pipe jalebi batter into hot oil in a circular motion.
- 💛 Fry until golden and crispy, then dip in warm sugar syrup and serve.
