Ingredients

  • 2 Rojões (thick-cut pork belly) 🐷
  • 2 Papo Secos (Portuguese rolls) 🥖
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced 🧄
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil 🫒
  • 1/2 Lemon, juice 🍋
  • Salt and Pepper to taste 🧂
  • Mustard (optional) 💛

Instructions

  • Prepare the Rojões: Season the pork belly with salt, pepper, and minced garlic. 🧂🧄
  • Cook the Rojões: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the Rojões until golden brown and cooked through (about 10 minutes per side). 🍳
  • Crisp them up: Increase the heat slightly in the last few minutes to crisp up the pork belly. 🔥
  • Rest and Slice: Remove the Rojões from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes. Slice them thinly.🔪
  • Prepare the Rolls: Slice the papo secos in half. 🥖
  • Assemble the Sandwiches: Place sliced Rojões inside the rolls. Squeeze lemon juice over the meat. 🍋
  • Add Mustard (optional): Spread mustard on the roll if desired. 💛
  • Serve: Serve immediately and enjoy! 😋
