Ingredients
- 🍚 Rice – 2 cups
- ⚪ Urad Dal (split black lentils) – 1/2 cup
- 💧 Water – as needed for soaking and grinding
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🥄 Oil – for greasing idli molds
Instructions
- 💧 Soak rice and urad dal separately for 4-6 hours.
- 🍚 Grind rice and dal into a smooth batter.
- 🥣 Mix both batters with salt and let it ferment overnight.
- ♨️ Steam the batter in greased idli molds for 10-12 minutes.
- 🍽️ Serve hot with chutney and sambar.
