Ingredients
- ๐ฐ All-purpose flour โ 2 1/2 cups
- ๐ซ Unsweetened cocoa powder โ 2 tbsp
- ๐ง Baking soda โ 1 tsp
- ๐ง Salt โ 1 tsp
- ๐ง Unsalted butter โ 1 cup
- ๐ Granulated sugar โ 2 cups
- ๐ฅ Large eggs โ 2
- ๐งช Red food coloring โ 2 tbsp
- ๐ฅ Buttermilk โ 1 cup
- โ White vinegar โ 1 tsp
- ๐ฆ Vanilla extract โ 1 tsp
- ๐ง Cream cheese โ 8 oz
- ๐ฅ Powdered sugar โ 3 cups
Instructions
- ๐ฅ Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour cake pans.
- ๐ฅฃ Whisk together dry ingredients in a bowl. Cream butter and sugar.
- ๐ฅ Beat in eggs, then add food coloring. Alternate adding dry and wet ingredients.
- ๐ฅ Mix in vinegar and vanilla extract. Pour batter into pans.
- โฒ๏ธ Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.
- ๐ง For frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter. Gradually add powdered sugar.
