Ingredients
- 🍚 Semolina (Rava/Sooji) – 1 cup
- 🧅 Onion – finely chopped
- 🌿 Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- 🌶️ Podi (Spice powder) – 2-3 tbsp
- 💧 Water – 2 cups
- 🥜 Cashews – for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- 🔥 Roast semolina until lightly golden. Set aside.
- 🔥 Heat oil, add mustard seeds, and let them splutter. Add onions and curry leaves; sauté until onions are translucent.
- 💧 Add water and bring to a boil. Slowly add roasted semolina, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- 🌶️ Stir in podi and mix well. Cook until the upma thickens and water is absorbed.
- 🥜 Garnish with cashews (optional) and serve hot.
