Ingredients

  • 🍗 Chicken pieces – 1.5 lbs
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
  • 🌶️ Red pepper flakes – 1 tsp (optional)
  • 🌿 Dried oregano – 1 tsp
  • 🍋 Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  • 🥄 Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • 🧂 Salt and pepper – to taste

Instructions

  • 🥣 Marinate chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) for at least 30 minutes.
  • 🔥 Heat olive oil in a large pan or pot over medium heat.
  • 🧅 Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • 🍗 Add marinated chicken to the pan and cook until browned on all sides.
  • 💧 Add a little water or broth, cover the pan, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • 🌿 Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot with rice or vegetables.
