Ingredients
- Puff pastry dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup granulated sugar 🍚
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 🌾
- 1 1/2 cups milk 🥛
- 6 large egg yolks 🥚
- 1 lemon peel 🍋
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Ground cinnamon for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 550°F (290°C). 🔥
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour, and milk. Whisk until smooth. 🥣
- Add lemon peel and cinnamon stick. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. 🥄
- Remove from heat and discard lemon peel and cinnamon stick. 🍋➡️🗑️, 🪵➡️🗑️
- Gradually whisk in egg yolks until well combined. 🥚
- Let the custard cool slightly. ⏳
- Roll out puff pastry dough and cut into 12 equal pieces. 🔪
- Shape each piece of dough into a small cup. Place them into muffin tin. 🧁
- Pour the custard into each dough cup. 🥄
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the custard is slightly charred on top. ⏰
- Let cool slightly before removing from the muffin tin. ♨️
- Dust with powdered sugar and ground cinnamon before serving. 🍥✨
