Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef 🥩
  • 1 Onion, chopped 🧅
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced 🧄
  • 1 can (28 oz) Crushed tomatoes 🍅
  • 1 can (15 oz) Kidney beans, rinsed and drained 🫘
  • 1/2 cup Beef broth 🍲
  • 2 tbsp Chili powder 🌶️
  • 1 tsp Cumin 🌿
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano 🌿
  • Salt and pepper to taste 🧂
  • 1 bag (about 1 lb) Frozen french fries 🍟
  • 1 cup Cheese curds 🧀
  • Gravy (homemade or store-bought) 🥫

Instructions

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease. 🍳
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. 🧅🧄
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. 🍅🫘🍲🌶️🌿
  • While the chili is simmering, cook the french fries according to package directions. 🍟
  • Place the cooked french fries in bowls. Top with cheese curds. 🍟🧀
  • Ladle the chili over the cheese curds and french fries. 🍲
  • Drizzle generously with gravy. Serve immediately. 🥫
