Mutton Raan

Ingredients

  • 🥩 Mutton leg – 1 whole
  • 🧅 Onions – sliced
  • 🧄 Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  • 🌶️ Red chili powder – 2 tsp
  • 🌿 Garam masala – 1 tbsp
  • 🍋 Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  • 🥄 Yogurt – 1 cup
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste

Instructions

  • 🔪 Marinate mutton leg with ginger-garlic paste, chili powder, garam masala, yogurt, lemon juice, and salt. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  • 🔥 Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • 🧅 Place sliced onions at the bottom of a large roasting pan.
  • 🥩 Place the marinated mutton leg on top of the onions. Cover the pan with foil.
  • ⏳ Roast for 3 hours, or until the mutton is very tender. Remove foil during the last 30 minutes for browning. Rest for 15 minutes before carving and serving.
