Ingredients
- 🐑 Mutton – 500g, cut into pieces
- 🧅 Onions – 2 medium, chopped
- 🍅 Tomatoes – 2 medium, chopped
- 🌶️ Green chilies – 2-3, slit
- 🌿 Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- 🧄 Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Tamarind pulp – 1/2 cup
- 🥄 Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- 🌶️ Red chili powder – 1 tbsp
- 🌿 Coriander powder – 2 tbsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Cooking oil – 2 tbsp
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🌿 Fresh coriander leaves – for garnish
Instructions
- 🔥 Heat oil in a pot, add mustard and fenugreek seeds. Once they splutter, add onions, green chilies and curry leaves. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
- 🧄 Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add tomatoes and cook until softened.
- 🐑 Add mutton pieces, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Sauté for 5-7 minutes.
- 🥘 Pour tamarind pulp, add salt and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45-60 minutes or until mutton is tender.
- 🌿 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
