Ingredients

  • 🐟 Mackerel fillet – 1 piece
  • 🍚 Cooked rice – 1 bowl
  • 🌱 Wakame seaweed – small amount
  • 🧅 Green onions – chopped
  • 🥣 Miso paste – 2 tbsp
  • 🍶 Mirin – 1 tbsp
  • 🥢 Soy sauce – 1 tsp
  • 🧊 Dashi stock – 1/2 cup
  • 🌿 Pickled ginger – a few slices

Instructions

  • 🥣 Prepare miso soup: Combine miso paste, mirin, soy sauce and dashi stock. Simmer gently.
  • 🔥 Grill or pan-fry mackerel until cooked through and slightly browned.
  • 🍚 Serve mackerel with a bowl of cooked rice.
  • 🌿 Add miso soup, wakame seaweed, pickled ginger, and chopped green onions on the side as part of the teishoku set.
