Ingredients
- 🖤 Black lentils (Maash daal) – 1 cup
- 🧅 Onion – finely chopped
- 🍅 Tomatoes – diced
- 🧄 Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- 🌶️ Green chilies – chopped (optional)
- 🌿 Cilantro – for garnish
- 🧈 Butter or ghee – 2 tbsp
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 💧 Water – as needed
Instructions
- 🖤 Wash and soak black lentils for 30 minutes.
- 🧅 Sauté onions until golden, then add ginger-garlic paste and chilies.
- 🍅 Add tomatoes and cook until softened.
- 🥘 Add the soaked lentils, water, and salt. Cook until lentils are tender.
- 🧈 Finish with butter/ghee and cilantro. Serve hot with rice or roti. 🍚
