Ingredients

  • 🍚 Rice – 2 cups
  • 🥩 Pork belly – 500g, cubed
  • 🥚 Hard-boiled eggs – 4
  • 🍄 Dried shiitake mushrooms – 6, soaked
  • 🧅 Shallots – 3, minced
  • 🧄 Garlic – 3 cloves, minced
  • ⭐ Star anise – 2
  • 🌿 Soy sauce – 1/4 cup
  • 🍬 Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • 💧 Water – 4 cups

Instructions

  • 🔥 Sauté shallots and garlic until fragrant in a pot.
  • 🥩 Add pork belly and stir-fry until browned.
  • 🍄 Add shiitake mushrooms, star anise, soy sauce, and sugar. Stir well.
  • 🥚 Add hard-boiled eggs and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until pork is tender.
  • 🍚 Serve Lu Fan over rice, topped with the braised pork, egg, and sauce.
