Ingredients
- 🍞 Bread – 4 slices
- 🥚 Eggs – 4 (use yolks)
- 🥛 Milk – 1/4 cup
- 🧈 Butter – for frying
- 🍁 Maple syrup – for serving
- ✨ Vanilla extract – 1/2 tsp (optional)
Instructions
- 🥚 Separate egg yolks carefully, keeping them intact.
- 🥣 Whisk milk and vanilla extract (if using) in a shallow dish.
- 🍞 Dip bread slices in the milk mixture, soaking both sides.
- 🍳 Melt butter in a pan over medium heat and cook soaked bread until golden brown on both sides.
- 🔪 Make a small indentation in the center of each toast and gently place an egg yolk in the center of each.
- 🔥 Cook for another minute, until the yolk is slightly warmed but still runny. Serve immediately with maple syrup.
