Ingredients
- 1 kg all-purpose flour 🌾
- 500 ml lukewarm water 💧
- 25 g fresh yeast 酵母
- 1 tbsp salt 🧂
- 1 tbsp sugar 🍬
- Vegetable oil for frying 🛢️
- Toppings of your choice: sour cream 🥛, cheese 🧀, garlic 🧄, ham 🍖
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy. 🥛
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. 🥣
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour and mix well. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. 💪
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size. ⏳
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or deep fryer to 180°C (350°F). 🔥
- Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces. 🔪
- Stretch each piece into a flat, oval shape. Don't make them too thin! 🖐️
- Carefully place the lángos into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. ☀️
- Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. 📄
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings: sour cream, cheese, garlic, ham, etc. 😋
