Ingredients

  • 🌾 Whole wheat flour – 2 cups
  • 🍶 Yogurt – 2 tbsp
  • 🫙 Sugar – 1 tsp
  • ♨️ Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
  • 💧 Warm water – as needed
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 🧈 Ghee or butter – for brushing

Instructions

  • 🥣 In a bowl, combine flour, yogurt, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  • 💧 Gradually add warm water and knead into a soft dough.
  • ⏳ Cover and let the dough rest for at least 2 hours to ferment.
  • 🔥 Heat a griddle or tawa. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll into thick rotis.
  • ♨️ Cook each roti on the hot griddle until golden brown spots appear, brushing with ghee or butter.
