Ingredients

  • 🍚 Idly Rice – 4 cups
  • 🌱 Urad Dal – 1 cup
  • 💧 Water – for soaking and grinding
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 🥄 Fenugreek Seeds (Methi) – 1 tsp

Instructions

  • 🥣 Soak rice and urad dal separately for 4-6 hours.
  • 💧 Grind urad dal until light and fluffy, then grind rice until slightly coarse.
  • 🥄 Mix both batters with salt and fenugreek seeds.
  • ⏳ Ferment overnight or for 8-12 hours until doubled in volume.
  • ♨️ Steam or cook on a hot griddle to make idlis or dosas.
