Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubes 🐷
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce 🐟
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce 🍶
  • 2 tbsp sugar 🍬
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic 🧄
  • 1 tbsp minced shallots 🧅
  • 1 tbsp honey 🍯
  • 1 tsp black pepper ⚫
  • 1/2 tsp five-spice powder ⭐
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil 🍾
  • 1/4 cup chopped lemongrass 🌿
  • 1 tbsp rice wine (optional) 🍚

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the pork with fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, shallots, honey, pepper, five-spice powder, cooking oil, lemongrass, and rice wine (if using). Mix well and marinate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator. ⏰
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). 🔥
  • Thread the marinated pork cubes onto skewers. 🍢
  • Arrange the skewers in a single layer in a roasting pan. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and slightly caramelized, flipping occasionally. 🔄
  • Alternatively, you can grill the pork skewers over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, turning frequently until cooked through. ♨️
  • Serve hot with rice or noodles and your favorite Vietnamese dipping sauce. 🍚🥢
