Ingredients
- 🍷 Red Wine – 1 bottle
- 🥃 Brandy or Aquavit – 1/2 cup
- 🍊 Orange Peel – from 1 orange
- 🍋 Lemon Peel – from 1 lemon
- ⭐ Star Anise – 3-4
- 🌿 Cinnamon Sticks – 2-3
- 🌰 Cardamom Pods – 6-8
- 🍇 Raisins – 1/2 cup
- 🔪 Almonds – 1/2 cup, blanched
- 🍯 Sugar or Honey – to taste
Instructions
- 🍊🍋 Combine wine, brandy/aquavit, orange peel, lemon peel, star anise, cinnamon sticks, and cardamom pods in a pot.🔥
- 🌡️ Heat gently over low heat, being careful not to boil. Simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Stir occasionally.🥄
- 🍯 Add sugar or honey to taste and stir until dissolved. Sweeten to your liking.✨
- 🍇🔪 Add raisins and almonds. Continue to simmer for another 15 minutes.♨️
- 🍷 Strain the gløgg to remove the spices and peels. Serve warm in mugs. Enjoy!🥂
