Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef π₯©
- 1 large onion, chopped π§
- 2 cloves garlic, minced π§
- 1 inch ginger, minced π«
- 1 tsp berbere spice blend πΆοΈ
- 1/2 tsp cumin πΏ
- 1/4 tsp turmeric π
- 1/4 cup water π§
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil π»
- Salt to taste π§
- Pepper to taste β«
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. π₯
- Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. π§
- Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute more. π§π«
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. π₯©
- Stir in berbere spice blend, cumin, and turmeric. πΆοΈπΏπ
- Add water and bring to a simmer. π§
- Reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.β±οΈ
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. π§β«
- Serve hot with injera or rice. π
