Ingredients
- 🌾 Bread Flour – 4 cups (high protein is best)
- 💧 Warm Water – 1.5 cups
- 🍞 Active Dry Yeast – 2 tsp
- 🍯 Honey or Sugar – 2 tbsp
- 🧂 Salt – 1.5 tsp
- 🥚 Egg – 1 beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- 🥣 Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and water, then knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 🧘 Place dough in a greased bowl and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour until doubled.
- 🍩 Divide dough into equal portions, roll into balls, and poke a hole in the center to shape.
- 🌊 Boil the shaped bagels in water for 1 minute per side to create a chewy crust.
- 🥖 Brush with egg wash and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20 minutes until golden brown.
