Ingredients

  • 🥩 Ground meat – 500g
  • 🍚 Rice – 1/2 cup
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, grated
  • 🌿 Fresh mint – chopped
  • 🍋 Lemon juice – to taste
  • 🥔 Potato – 2 medium, cubed
  • 🥕 Carrot – 1 large, sliced
  • 💧 Water or broth – 6 cups
  • 🥚 Egg – 1
  • 🧂 Salt & Pepper – to taste

Instructions

  • 🥣 Prepare the köfte mixture: Combine ground meat, rice, grated onion, mint, egg, salt, and pepper. Form into small meatballs.
  • 🔥 In a large pot, bring water or broth to a boil. Add potatoes and carrots; cook until slightly tender.
  • 🥘 Gently add the meatballs to the pot. Reduce heat and simmer until the meatballs are cooked through.
  • 🍋 Stir in lemon juice to taste for the 'ekşili' (sour) flavor. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • 🌿 Garnish with fresh mint before serving hot.
