Ingredients
- 🍕 Dough: 2 1/2 cups bread flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 1 packet active dry yeast, 1 cup warm water, 2 tbsp olive oil
- 🍅 Sauce: 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp dried basil, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste
- 🧀 Cheese: 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 🌶️ Toppings: Pepperoni slices, sliced mushrooms, green bell peppers, onions, black olives (optional)
Instructions
- 1. 🥣 Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add warm water and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- 2. Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- 3. ⏳ Let it rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 4. 🔥 Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- 5. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine tomato sauce, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- 6. 🍕 Shape the pizza: Punch down the dough and roll it out to your desired thickness. Place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- 7. Spread the sauce: Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
- 8. Add cheese and toppings: Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add your desired toppings.
- 9. ⏲️ Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
