Dhansak with Bhagara Rice

Ingredients

  • 🍖 Mutton or Chicken – 500g
  • 🧅 Onions – 2 large, chopped
  • 🍅 Tomatoes – 2 medium, pureed
  • 🧄 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
  • 🌿 Dhansak Masala – 4 tbsp
  • 🥔 Mixed Vegetables (Pumpkin, Potatoes, etc.) – 2 cups
  • 🍚 Lentils (Toor, Chana, Masoor) – 1 cup
  • 🍋 Lemon Juice – 2 tbsp
  • 🍚 Basmati Rice – 2 cups (for Bhagara Rice)
  • 🌿 Whole Spices (Cumin, Cloves, Bay Leaves) – for Bhagara Rice

Instructions

  • 🍚 Cook lentils until soft. Pressure cook meat with ginger-garlic paste and Dhansak masala.
  • 🧅 Sauté onions until golden. Add tomatoes and cook well.
  • 🥘 Add cooked meat, lentils, and mixed vegetables. Simmer until vegetables are tender.
  • 🍋 Finish with lemon juice and garnish with coriander.
  • 🌿 For Bhagara Rice: Sauté whole spices in oil, add rice and water, cook until done. Serve Dhansak with Bhagara Rice.
