Ingredients
- 🍚 Rice – basmati preferred
- 💛 Yellow lentils (dal) – split
- 🧅 Onion – chopped
- 🍅 Tomato – chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – minced
- 🌶️ Green chili – chopped
- 🌿 Cilantro – fresh, for garnish
- 💧 Oil or ghee – for cooking
- 🧂 Turmeric, cumin, coriander – to taste
Instructions
- 🍚 Cook rice according to package directions.
- 💛 Cook lentils until soft, either in a pot or pressure cooker.
- 🔥 Sauté onions, garlic, and green chili in oil or ghee until golden.
- 🍅 Add tomatoes and spices, cook until softened.
- 🥘 Combine cooked lentils with the tomato-onion mixture. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- 🌿 Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice.
