Ingredients

  • ⚪ Urad Dal (split black lentils) – 1 cup
  • 🍶 Yogurt (Dahi) – 2 cups
  • 🫘 Green chilies – 2, finely chopped
  • 🌿 Cilantro – for garnish
  • 🫙 Tamarind chutney – to taste
  • 🌶️ Red chili powder – to taste
  • ⚫ Roasted cumin powder – to taste

Instructions

  • 🥣 Soak urad dal overnight, then grind into a smooth batter.
  • 🔥 Deep fry small portions of the batter until golden brown and fluffy (Bhallas).
  • 💧 Soak the fried bhallas in water to soften them.
  • 🥄 Gently squeeze out excess water and arrange in a serving dish.
  • 🍧 Top with yogurt, tamarind chutney, and sprinkle with spices. Garnish with cilantro and serve chilled.
