Ingredients

  • 🍚 Rice – 1 cup (short or long grain)
  • 💧 Water or Broth – 6-8 cups
  • 🍗 Protein – cooked chicken, pork, or tofu
  • 🧅 Scallions – chopped for garnish
  • 🧂 Soy Sauce – to taste

Instructions

  • 🍚 Rinse rice thoroughly.
  • 💧 Combine rice and water/broth in a pot.
  • 🔥 Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until rice breaks down and the mixture thickens.
  • 🍗 Stir in cooked protein during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  • 🧅 Garnish with scallions and add soy sauce to taste. Serve hot.
