Ingredients

  • 🥛 Full-fat Milk – 2 liters
  • 🍚 Sugar – 1 cup
  • 🍋 Lemon juice – 1/4 tsp (for grainy texture)
  • 🧈 Ghee – 2 tablespoons
  • 🫚 Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp for aroma

Instructions

  • 🥛 Boil milk in a heavy-bottomed pan and reduce it to half over medium heat, stirring often.
  • 🍋 Add a tiny amount of lemon juice to slightly curdle the milk and create a grainy texture.
  • 🍚 Stir in the sugar and ghee, continuing to cook until the mixture thickens and turns light brown.
  • 🥘 Transfer the thick mixture into a greased deep container and cover it to set for 4-5 hours.
  • ✨ Once firm and cooled, slice into rectangular pieces and serve at room temperature.
