Ingredients

  • 🍚 Basmati Rice – 2 cups
  • 🍗 Chicken – 1 lb, cut into pieces
  • 🧅 Onions – 2 large, sliced
  • 🌿 Mint Leaves – 1/4 cup, chopped
  • 🌱 Coriander Leaves – 1/4 cup, chopped
  • 🌶️ Green Chillies – 2-3, slit
  • 🧄 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
  • 🥄 Biryani Masala – 3 tbsp
  • 🥛 Yogurt – 1/2 cup
  • 🍋 Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp
  • 💧 Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste

Instructions

  • 🍗 Marinate chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, and biryani masala. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • 🧅 Sauté onions in ghee until golden brown. Add green chilies and marinated chicken. Cook until chicken is browned.
  • 🍚 In a large pot, layer half-cooked rice, chicken, mint, and coriander. Repeat layers.
  • 💧 Add saffron-infused water (optional) and cover the pot tightly. Cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes until rice is fully cooked.
  • ✨ Garnish with fried onions and serve hot with raita.
