Ingredients

  • 4 oz Ground Beef (80/20)
  • 1 Burger Bun 🍔
  • 1 slice Cheese (American or Cheddar) 🧀
  • 1 tbsp Butter 🧈
  • 1 tbsp Onion, thinly sliced 🧅
  • 1 tsp Mustard 💛
  • 1 tsp Ketchup ❤️
  • Salt & Pepper 🧂

Instructions

  • Form ground beef into a loose ball. Don't overwork it!
  • Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  • Place the beef ball on the hot surface and smash it thin with a spatula. Press down firmly!
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes until a crust forms.
  • Scrape under the burger and flip. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Add cheese slice during the last minute of cooking 🧀.
  • While the burger cooks, butter the burger bun and toast it on the skillet until golden brown 🧈.
  • Assemble the burger: Bottom bun, mustard, ketchup, onions, burger patty with cheese, and top bun. Enjoy! 🎉
