Ingredients

  • 🐷 Pork belly – 2 lbs
  • 🍶 Soy sauce – 1 cup
  • 🍚 Mirin – 1 cup
  • 🍬 Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, crushed
  • 🧅 Onion – 1/2, sliced
  • 🌿 Ginger – 1 inch knob, sliced

Instructions

  • 🔥 Sear pork belly on all sides in a pot.
  • 💧 Add soy sauce, mirin, sugar, garlic, onion, and ginger.
  • ⏲️ Add water to cover the pork belly.
  • simmer for 2 hours, turning occasionally, until tender.
  • 🔪 Slice and serve with ramen or rice.
