Ingredients

  • 💛 Chana Dal (split chickpeas) – 1 cup
  • 🌿 Palak (spinach) – 2 cups, chopped
  • 🧄 Garlic (lasooni) – 6-8 cloves, minced
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🌶️ Green chilies – 1-2, chopped
  • 🍅 Tomato – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🥄 Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • 🌿 Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • 🌶️ Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  • 💛 Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • 🌿 Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • 🍋 Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • 🌿 Fresh coriander leaves – for garnish
  • 🥄 Oil/Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste

Instructions

  • 💛 Wash and soak chana dal for 30 minutes. Cook until soft.
  • 🔥 Heat oil/ghee, add cumin seeds, and sauté garlic until golden.
  • 🧅 Add onion and green chilies, sauté until light brown.
  • 🍅 Add tomato and ginger-garlic paste, cook until soft. Add spices and cook for 2 minutes.
  • 🌿 Add spinach and cooked dal, mix well. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Garnish with coriander and lemon juice. Serve hot with rice or roti.
