Ingredients
- 🥩 Moose meat – 2 lbs, cubed
- 🥓 Bacon – 6 slices, chopped
- 🧅 Onions – 2 large, chopped
- 🥕 Carrots – 2 cups, sliced
- 🥔 Potatoes – 2 lbs, cubed
- 🍄 Mushrooms – 1 cup, sliced
- 🍷 Red wine – 1 cup
- 🌿 Thyme – 2 sprigs
- 🥛 Heavy cream – 1/2 cup
Instructions
- 🥓 Fry bacon in a large pot until crispy, then remove and set aside, leaving the rendered fat.
- 🥩 Brown moose meat in the bacon fat, then remove and set aside.
- 🧅 Sauté onions, carrots, and mushrooms in the pot until softened.
- 🍷 Return meat and bacon to the pot. Add red wine, thyme, and potatoes. Bring to a simmer and cook for 45 minutes or until meat is tender.
- 🥛 Stir in heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
