Ingredients

  • 🥩 Moose meat – 2 lbs, cubed
  • 🥓 Bacon – 6 slices, chopped
  • 🧅 Onions – 2 large, chopped
  • 🥕 Carrots – 2 cups, sliced
  • 🥔 Potatoes – 2 lbs, cubed
  • 🍄 Mushrooms – 1 cup, sliced
  • 🍷 Red wine – 1 cup
  • 🌿 Thyme – 2 sprigs
  • 🥛 Heavy cream – 1/2 cup

Instructions

  • 🥓 Fry bacon in a large pot until crispy, then remove and set aside, leaving the rendered fat.
  • 🥩 Brown moose meat in the bacon fat, then remove and set aside.
  • 🧅 Sauté onions, carrots, and mushrooms in the pot until softened.
  • 🍷 Return meat and bacon to the pot. Add red wine, thyme, and potatoes. Bring to a simmer and cook for 45 minutes or until meat is tender.
  • 🥛 Stir in heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
