Ingredients
- 🦢 Goose – 1 whole, about 5-6 lbs
- 🧅 Onions – 2 large, chopped
- 🥕 Carrots – 2 large, chopped
- 🌿 Thyme – sprigs
- 🍷 Red Wine – 1 cup
- 🍲 Broth – 4 cups (chicken or vegetable)
- 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- 🧂 Salt & Pepper – to taste
Instructions
- 🔥 Sear the goose on all sides in a large pot or Dutch oven.
- 🧅 Remove goose and sauté onions, carrots, and garlic until softened.
- 🍷 Deglaze the pot with red wine, scraping up any browned bits.
- 🦢 Return goose to the pot, add broth and thyme, and bring to a simmer.
- 🥘 Cover and braise in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 2 hours, or until the goose is tender.
- ✨ Remove goose, shred the meat, and serve with the braising liquid.
