Blackberry Bay Leaf Danish

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet (14.1 oz) frozen puff pastry, thawed ❄️
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries 🫐
  • 2 fresh bay leaves 🌿
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar 🍚
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 🧈
  • 1 large egg, beaten 🥚
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened 🧀
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar 🍬
  • 1 tablespoon milk 🥛
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 🥄

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 📜
  • Gently unfold the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. 🔪
  • Cut the pastry sheet into 6 equal squares. ✂️
  • In a small bowl, combine blackberries, granulated sugar, and finely chopped bay leaves. Mix gently. 🥣
  • In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. 🥄
  • Place a spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. 🥄
  • Top with blackberry mixture. 🍇
  • Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg. 🥚
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. 🔥
  • Brush the warm danishes with melted butter. 🧈
