Ingredients
- ⚫ Black beans – 1 pound, dried
- 🧅 Onion – 1, chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- 🌶️ Chili powder – 1 tbsp
- 🌿 Cumin – 1 tsp
- 💧 Water – 6 cups
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
Instructions
- 💧 Rinse black beans and soak for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- 🧅 In a pot, sauté onion and garlic until softened.
- 🌶️ Add chili powder, cumin, and salt. Stir for 1 minute.
- ⚫ Add drained black beans and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until beans are tender.
- 🥄 Mash some of the beans to thicken the broth. Serve hot.
