Ingredients

  • 👅 Beef tongue – 1 large
  • 🧅 Onion – 1, quartered
  • 🥕 Carrots – 2, roughly chopped
  • 🌿 Bay leaf – 2
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, crushed
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 🌶️ Black peppercorns – 1 tsp

Instructions

  • 💧 Place beef tongue in a large pot and cover with water.
  • 🥕 Add onion, carrots, bay leaf, garlic, salt, and peppercorns.
  • 🔥 Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 3 hours, or until the tongue is very tender.
  • 🔪 Remove the tongue and let it cool slightly. Peel off the skin.
  • 🍽️ Slice and serve. Can be used in tacos, sandwiches, or as a main course.
