Ingredients
- 🍚 Rice – Basmati or local variety
- 🥔 Potatoes – diced
- 🫘 Chickpeas – soaked overnight
- 🧅 Onions – finely chopped
- 🍅 Tomatoes – pureed
- 🌶️ Green chilies – slit
- 🧄 Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- 🌿 Coriander leaves – chopped
- 🥄 Garam masala – 1 tsp
- 🥄 Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Instructions
- 🔥 Heat oil in a pot and add onions, sauté until golden brown.
- 🧄 Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cook for a minute.
- 🍅 Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Cook until oil separates.
- 🥔 Add potatoes and chickpeas, mix well, and cook for 5 minutes.
- 🍚 Add rice and water (double the amount of rice). Bring to a boil, then simmer until rice is cooked.
- 🌿 Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
